Art of the Oyster Paint Party/Exhibit/Fundraiser/Auction

           January 5,2017  6 to 9 pm

Calling up to 24 artists to participate in a painting party with an oyster theme.   We want to give thanks and honor “The Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department” by creating art for auction at the Cook off and Fundraiser.  Local Artist, Ed Springer will be on hand to provide coaching and advice.

On Thursday, January 5, please join us for a painting party at the Center for History, Culture and Art, 86 Water Street, Apalachicola, Florida at 6 PM. 16 x 20 Gallery ready canvases and acrylic paints will be supplied along with wine and appetizers.  Your completed Oyster Art painting will be on exhibit starting Friday, January 6 and be a featured auction item for preview Friday night, January 13.  The auction continues throughout the day on Saturday.

The Oyster Cook-Off, to benefit the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department is held every year on the Friday and Saturday before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at Riverfront Park.  All proceeds go directly towards paying for the new fire truck.  Oyster Paintings for auction added a new dimension to the fundraising earning almost $2600 last year and we had a fun evening, painting with friends and creating individual paintings.  With your art contribution, we expect we will have another wonderful exhibit for the 2017 auction.  We hope you will join in on the fun.

This year’s 7th Annual Oyster Cook-Off will be held January 13th and 14th
